Sara D. Spencer Event Hall

The Sara D. Spencer Event Hall, located in the International House, hosts numerous international events each year. Recently upgraded and remodeled, the event hall is great for lectures, meetings, induction ceremonies, films and much more.
CSU faculty, staff or student groups may reserve the space for events.

Who can use the space:

  • CSU faculty, staff, or student groups for CSU-related events
    (meetings, lectures, presentations, induction ceremonies, etc.)

  • Non-CSU groups
    (meetings, lectures, presentations, dinners)
    Must provide own linens.
    Clean-up is provided.

Cost for use of the space:

CSU Events:

  • Weekdays - $75 per event (or per day if a group uses the space on more than one day)

  • Weekends (Fri. 5pm thru Mon. 12am) - $150 per event (or per day if a group uses the space on more than one day)

Non-CSU Events:

  • Weekday or Weekend - $300 per event (or per day if a group uses the space on more than one day)
    Must provide own linens.
    Clean-up is provided.

Only exceptions allowed are:

No charge for departmental or student organizational meetings or events (lectures, presentations) where no food is served, no linens are needed, and no clean-up is required.

Cancellation Policy:

  • 5 business days notice required for cancellation of an event.
    (No refunds will be given if cancellation occurs after that time.)

Reservation Process:

  1. Check on space availability -

    Call or email Christine Shaw at the Center for International Education

  2. Go to the University Support Services webpage to request the space

  3. Once the Center for International Education receives your request, you will receive an e-mail approving or declining your event.

  4. Complete the Room Reservation Form which is included in the email (for student groups:  the advisor for the group must complete and sign this form)

  5. Forward (via scan or in person) the completed and signed Room Reservation Form to Christine Shaw, CIE

  6. Payment, signing of the contract and waiver of liability is processed through University Support Services.
